Tetragon acquires Intercomm line of business from Isogon
Syosset, NY, June 28, 2005 – Tetragon LLC announced today that it
has finalized arrangements with Isogon to acquire the Intercomm
business, including all current maintenance agreements, license
agreements, and intellectual property. Tetragon will immediately
assume all responsibilities for supporting the customer base, and
maintaining and improving the product.
Many of the world’s largest organizations are Intercomm licensees,
and rely on Intercomm, as they have for decades, as a critical
component of their online processing. Intercomm efficiently
processes many billions of transactions each year. According to
Robert Barritz, Tetragon’s President, “Tetragon’s acquisition of the
Intercomm business assures existing licensees of having access to
the vital maintenance services they need to support their key
workload, now and into the future.”
Mr. Barritz has a long history with Intercomm, having been one of
the original developers of the product in 1970, when it was owned by
PMI. Mr. Barritz was later Director of Development for PMI, before
leaving to found his own firm. In 1983, Isogon Corporation, with Mr.
Barritz at the helm as President and CEO, acquired Intercomm from
the then-owner, SDA. Said Mr. Barritz, “Tetragon’s present
acquisition of Intercomm is a personal full-circle. I’m particularly
pleased that a product that I worked so hard on in the past will be
assured of a healthy, active future.”
